Description
Into the Light Spiritual Painting is a metaphorical artwork concerning spiritual metaphysics. The composition shows a flight of cold stone steps that lead into a lighted area of a castle; a 13th Century banqueting hall and a corridor with further doorways beyond it. The composition is virtually true in its architecture and typical daylight effects. It is part of Carew Castle’s interior located in Pembrokeshire.
To appreciate its metaphorical aspects and what these might mean to you then consider first that the painting illustrates a spiritual led journey through life.
You can see in the foreground it is quite dark with a glimpse of light falling onto the top of each stone step. This might have many poignant meanings to you. The steps, from the bottom upwards, act as your path to achieve a long term goal of your own making and perhaps related to your career or job although it does not have to be related in this way. It could be anything relative to you. You can use your own interpretation on how this spiritual painting might fit into your life with what you have done and are doing now.
The bluish light on each stone step could indicate success of some sort with the darks below being the difficulties you experienced to reach this status. In addition, if you are allowing spirit to guide you through life then these bluish lights could act as your navigational way-points or sign posts. And once you have demonstrated to spirit your perseverance, a better spiritual light will lighten your path. This is illustrated about halfway up the steps with direct yellow sunlight on the left hand side wall and its refracted light on the right.
Reaching the sunlit banqueting hall is a metaphor for achieving success, in this painting. The corridors and their doorways beyond indicate that you have the option of capitalising on your success with further explorations and more success.
Overall, the philosophy behind this painting suggests that there is “light at the end of a tunnel” or in this case that you will be rewarded once you get to the top of the stone steps. The cold stone steps could mean a basic arduous life but generally you will only know this in hindsight. And the term arduous is subjective to your way of life.
Climbing or walking from the bottom step up to the top and into the banqueting hall might take you much time such as 30 or 40 years as equally it might take you a lot less time. It really depends on what you are doing to achieve your life target.
Many of us start out with an idea of what we would like to do or achieve in life and many of us fumble around in the dark during early adult years. Some of us will strive to reach a goal of our own making with this being the top of the stone steps in this acrylic painting on a small panel. This can seem at times to be an indefinite journey to reach the top of the target steps. But perseverance is the key to success. And as we reach the near top, spiritual light might guide us to a worthwhile completion.
