Description
Border Collie Dogs Driving Sheep Passed Black Cockerels is the right hand side to the split painting entitled Border Collie Dogs Driving Sheep Through Welsh Farmland Gate and shown on the previous page.
Both are part of the same acrylic painting on panel and which has been photographed and digitally split to form two reproduction prints of which this is the right hand side.
In the foreground of this part of my split painting, you can see four black cockerels with red heads and adjacent to a discarded tractor tyre and which is partially hidden by yellow and red and orange wild flowers or weeds and fine grasses.
To the left of the black cocks are sheep being driven through an open farm gate by a couple of working farm Border Collie dogs behind them.
Splitting the foreground from the field of long will grasses are five fence posts complete with their square shaped fencing wire plus four small trees, a blue coloured rock and a plethora of wild flowers and long unkempt grass.
You can see a group of dark pink foxgloves growing along the bottom of the fencing and by the blue coloured rock next to the wooden gate post.
The field beyond the foreground shows many different types of long grasses of which some have a shimmering purple colour to their tops and a mix of wild flowers with the predominant type being yellow buttercups and celandines.
The mid distant hedgerow is positioned on an ancient man-made bank with some detail of old fencing posts still standing proud. Beyond these is another light green coloured field with more hedging and which has been greyed out to denote its distance. You can also see a small white farm house on the right and on neighbouring farm land.
On the horizon are the Cambrian hills and which I heightened a little to suit my picture better.
At the time of completing my painting, the sky was as shown with a summery Cobalt blue and with a mix of small white clouds moving swiftly across the landscape and towards me; in a Westerly direction.
